SuperTux Classic is a 2D platformer game where where you play as a penguin in Antarctica!

It is a complete remaster of the Milestone 1 version of SuperTux (versions 0.1.0 - 0.1.4) created from the ground up in the Godot engine! It features enhanced graphics, sounds, music, and gameplay, but retains the core design reminiscent of classic platformer titles such as Super Mario Bros.

The game is completely open source, being licensed under the GNU GPL. This means you can do whatever you like with the game's source files (under the license's conditions), whether that's redistributing the game, making mods, re-skins, custom levels, you name it!

The source code is available here: https://github.com/Alzter/SuperTux-Classic/

Hey, I have a homework to do and I wanted to make that homework (which is to make a website about something), since I don't have any themes between my hands, I thought that I could make a website about your project if that doesn't disturb you. :)

Thanks for the answer!

So, I've actually made the website and here is what it looks like :

Where's the link  to it?

Well, I still didn't host the website, but if you want it's source code you can get it right here: https://github.com/DaYoshiistesting/supertux-classic-website/

una pregunta como se llama el tema que suena en el nivel 6 del modo historia es que me gusto y quisiera buscarla por internet

pd exelente juego 10 puntos lo recomiendo

OMFG I just can't. Out of some reason, SuperTux was installed on our school computers, which happened to be macs running windows, of all things, but yeah, we gamed this to death...

This is absolutely amazing.  I love it!

I've played Super Tux a lot and I've made little game similar to this, but you have done such a wonderful jump here.  It really feels just like the original game.  I notice you have it labeled as "supertux-classic".  Are you going for the feel of the older versions of super tux?  I ask because I wouldn't mind helping out a little with this project and maybe add some of the newer features of supertux2 to this game.

Now 0.6.3 remake for mobile devices not laptops with bug fix level editor and scripts without symbols and full stops just minus and under scores tracks for badguys and objects and platforms and bosses etc ghost tree and yeti and nolok and

0.6.4 next

Can you add Fullscreen mode for Linux please?

How do you do that?

How to Add a Full Screen Option in the Godot Game Engine 3.4

Alteratively you add some sort of Borderless Window

There is now a level editor! You can make your own levels!

The editor is much better than from Supertux itself but can you add the ability to make boss levels into your world?

Pretty surprising choice to use Godot for this, it's pretty cool so far!

The movement feels too fast though and doesn't have that ease as you slow down, just tighten up the physics and it'll be great!

How would you like the physics to be modified? if you'd like, you can modify tux's physics and make a pull request on github :D

I have added an "Auto Run" toggle. If you turn this off, Tux handles more slowly by default and has more ease when slowing down.

This is awesome game! Only thing i don´t like is that it uses some tiles of the original SuperTux 0.6.3, it would be cool if it would use the original ST milstone tiles (for exaple those ice cave tiles), but as i said i rly enjoyed this game :)

There is a new boss fight in Bonus Island 2

World maps are now added!

when will level editor be added?

It's added now!

I like! Fun arcade-like stuff! Funzies!

I think this is a nice idea, and it’s clear you put a lot of effort into this, but I have a couple of complaints that render this unplayable:

  1. There’s no run button. It seems to me that you’re using the same physics as SuperTux Milestone 1 to a T, but with the run button constantly held down. It’s possible to do good plantforming physics without a run button (I did so in my game, ReTux), but with such fast acceleration, some sort of fine speed control is needed. If you want to go the no run button route, might I suggest a sneak button instead?
  2. There’s a severe bug or design oversight where when you hit a pair of blocks, only the one furthest to the right registers as hit or punched or whatever. It’s rather annoying and unintuitive to have to be so far to the left in order to get what’s inside of a block.

If you fix these two problems, I think this will be rather nice game.

1. Fixed, there's a setting to disable auto-run now.
2. Fixed.

Awesome, that’s great! I just gave it a try and it’s very very nice with these changes.

Is the movement supposed to be that fast? I feel as if everything is heavily sped up. I do like the UI upgrade tho and I think this would fit greatly with rusty's sprites.

I did make things a lot faster. I didn't actually play Milestone 1 much while making the game so I ended up inadvertently speeding up many aspects of the game. I like the speed but I can understand if you feel this is too different.

marry me. now. i love milestone 1, and since it got a remaster, i'm blown away.

hahahahaha!! I'm happy you like it! I love milestone 1 too, that's why I made this :D

Love this version! It's a nice concise take on SuperTux. I especially appreciate the bossfight and end sequence. Also it felt like eggs/fireflowers were placed more abundantly? Anyhow, very enjoyable gameplay, not frustrating at all.

Was expecting some new original soundtracks instead of TuxRacer and Pingus stuff, but it works okay enough.

I'm so happy you liked it!

Oh it's the first time I see the same v0.1.3 supertux is something great!
